What is a Bread Subscription?

A bread subscription is the best way for you to get your hands on some freshly baked breads all month long. You pick the breads you want ahead of time and you just have to swing by and pick it up at your designated location on designated day. Depending on where you are, deliveries can be arranged as well.

Why is a Bread Subscription important?

The bread subscription ensures that the bread is always fresh, because it is not being made as inventory, but instead with the purpose of being in your hands right away.  Without a traditional brick and mortar retail, we use a Community Supported Baker (CSB) business model. Subscriptions allow us to take pre-orders, maximizing resources and minimizing waste.

How do I store my bread?

The natural bacterias present in the sourdough loaves acts as a deterrent for mold and staling. When you first cut your bread open, make sure to leave the cut side down on the cutting block to keep it from drying out. You can store the bread at room temperature in an airtight container for the first day or two. After that, we recommend putting the loaf in the fridge and toasting it up when you want to use it.

All of our artisan breads are handcrafted daily using 100% organic, whole grains and the finest ingredients we can find. View Street Bread uses only levain and a natural fermentation process to create bread with a strong, crusty exterior and a flavorful and developed crumb. Some of the breads you may see us bake include: 

CountryThis naturally leavened loaf is made up of the simplest ingredients, just flour, salt, and water. We make these breads with a mix of wheats and ancient grains.

Ancient GrainsThese breads are great alternatives for people who have a hard time digesting wheat. Spelt and Kamut are ancient relatives of wheat with lower gluten levels. Spelt is a denser bread with a soft interior and a nutty flavor. Kamut is golden in color, a creamy texture, and a sweeter flavor. 

PorridgeMixing in fermented porridges including polenta, oat, or grains into the dough gives these breads a custard like texture, intense flavor, and easier digestibility. 

SeededThis flavorful and hearty loaf is packed full of sunflower, sesame, pumpkin, poppy, flax, and caraway seeds.

Walnut, Fig, & CurrantThe unique flavor combination of toasted walnuts, figs, and currants is one that can't be beat. It is especially great when toasted.

Light Seeded RyeThis ideal sandwich bread is made with sesame and caraway seeds, and has a tangy rye undertone. 

Black Pepper & ParmesanThis is the perfect savory bread. The spiciness of the fresh ground pepper pairs nicely with the sharpness of the parmesan.

ChocolateBreakfast, dessert, or any other time of day, this bread will do. No added sugar in this loaf, it is not a sweet bread, more of a decadent treat.

View Street Bread bakes premium viennoiserie and pastries daily, honoring both traditional and new techniques. Everything is made from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our menu changes with the seasons and the baker's inspiration, so we continually are offering new items. Below are some of the items you may find: 

Croissants  Our croissants are made using a sweet starter instead of commercial yeast, giving a slight acidity to the flavor. A Flaky, thin crust and a soft, buttery interior, these aren't to be missed. Flavorings include Traditional, Pain au Chocolat, Ham & Cheese.

Tea CakesTraditionally enjoyed by the slice with tea or coffee, these delicious cakes are a treat to be savored. Flavorings include Chocolate Espresso, Almond Lemon, Berry Crumble, Coconut, Apple Walnut.

MuffinsA classic pastry that we elevate with exciting flavor combinations and organic and local ingredients. Flavorings include Lemon Cornmeal, Vanilla Berry, Apple Cinnamon, Chocolate Chip.

SconesOur favorite savory pastry, our scones are light, flaky, and packed with flavor. Flavorings include Maple Bacon, Three Cheese Rye, Ham & Cheese.
